Giant Robots: A Japanese Legacy

Japan has faced the terrible threat of mega-fauna more often than any other nation over the last fifty years. Many have expressed shock that the people of this great island nation have managed to survive. Indeed, they might have failed, if not for Japan's giant robot monster fighters.

Here we see Kinnakaijin, one of Japan's newest Giant Robot Heroes

Unconfirmed reports of the frst giant robot heroes started appearing in the Japanese media in the mid 1960s, just a few years after the earliest appearances of mega-fauna.

Many Japanese giant robots possess near human facial features (above). Entire family groups of giant robot monster fighters have been reported (right).

Japan is not the only nation to develop giant robots, but no other nation has made such extensive use of that technology. Indeed, many analysts trace Japan's current dominance in the fields of consumer electronics and industrial engineering to their need to develop combat worthy robotics.

The incredible scale of Japan's Giant Robots is often underestimated by those who have not seen these magnificent warriors first-hand.

Since 1967, in more than 327 recorded encounters with mega-fauna from deep beneath the sea, the depths of the Earth, and the dark spaces beyond the stars, Japan's Giant Robots have yet to fail the people of that island race. It is no exageration to say that all the world owes a debt of deepest gratitude to the mighty mechanical defenders of Japan.
